My eye sees the world and is driven by the need to produce a painting which is a Being in itself. The reality of a vision and the vision of an inner reality. The painting responds directly to this need through movements of the hand which produces it while my eye critically judges the inadequacies of the painted Being.
My eye is an organ that moves itself; the means which invents its own ends. When I decide to paint, my eye has been moved inwardly by some impact of the world which is then restored to the visible again through the traces of the hand. Painting.
