As usual, I was on the road at day-break in order to arrive at my destination before the traffic. Since we are at the end of the summer Daylight Savings Time, the sun rises quite late so the traffic is already starting at a quarter past six. I went to Piazza Ungheria (Hungary Square) and readied myself for a beautiful spectacle of light and shadow taking place before my patient eyes.

I worked on a small canvas and was able to finish in less than 2 hours.

I must say that I have become deaf and dumb to the stirring events around me. I was about 1 metre from a lane of passing traffic which stopped every so often for the lights. When the lane near me was stopped, the lane in front of me went roaring past. First one, then another. It’s really quite unnerving at times.

On the other hand, while I was painting, I heard someone call, “Hey Painter!” I turned to see inside one of the waiting cars a friend of mine who was driving to work. I gave her my camera and she took this picture of me.
